Iris grew up in a small farm town in Ontario, Canada. She was raised with a deep appreciation for film, influencing her hobbies and the way she interacted with people. Beginning in high school she knew she wanted to get into film, which led to studying media production in college where she created her own short films and music videos that quickly revealed she wanted to make a career of directing.
Iris is a director that appreciates the dramatics of a swooping dolly-in, a tight edit and juicy visuals. Her music video background allows her to elevate and romanticize reality in two-to-three minute videos she considers short, short films. Iris’ love for storytelling is driven by her love for honest conversations, quiet and loud personalities and vivid moments, which is ultimately, the formula she exclaims, makes for one interesting film.
