Challenge
Credit Karma came in with a campaign built around a strong visual concept: a world where the credit card itself unlocks a better version of the character’s reality. The transition into that rewards world wasn’t landing with the emotional weight the idea deserved, and the product felt like an afterthought rather than the thing that makes the moment possible. The challenge was making it feel like a natural part of the story while still delivering a visual moment big enough to carry the campaign.
Insight
The contrast between the two worlds was the whole point. The mundane starting environment only works if the arrival into the rewards world feels truly distinct and earned. The team saw an opportunity to make that transition a signature visual device rather than a subtle shift. Keep the real world intact, but build something that creates real anticipation for what comes next.
Big Idea
The concept became a full-scale credit card portal: a gateway that appears in the character’s everyday environment and opens into a richer, more rewarding world. SixTwentySix brought physical dioramas of the structure to the client early, and it landed immediately. Miles and AJ then ran one of their most intensive animatic processes to date, five to six rounds of fully animated storyboards before a single day on set, aligning every technical decision early so that once cameras rolled, nothing got in the way of performance.
Impact
The client relationship grew meaningfully through the process. The creative alignment built during pre-production carried all the way through to set. For Miles and AJ, the project was a clear execution of a larger shift in their work: more mature, quality-first, and willing to stick to their convictions.
